Restore and Protect with Dental Crowns
点击:      信息来源:TSK

Often teeth are restored using composite tooth-colored or ceramic fillings. However, when too much of a tooth’s structure is missing to support a filling, a Dental Crown or “cap” may be needed to provide stability and protection.

A Dental Crown may be needed to:

• Cover badly shaped or discolored teeth

• Cover dental implants

• Protect a weak tooth from fracturing or restore fractured teeth

• Restore a tooth when it is unable to support a large filling

A Dental Crown essentially covers a tooth to restore it to its natural shape and size. This permanent covering fits over your original tooth to strengthen or improve the appearance of the tooth. Fitting a Dental Crown generally requires at least two visits to the dental office.

Replace Missing Teeth with a Dental Bridge

A dental bridge is one method to remedy a gap created by a missing tooth (or teeth). First, a bridge is created by fitting the teeth on either side of the gap with crowns. Next, a false tooth (or teeth) called a pontic is created and placed in the gap and supported by the crowns or implants.

Benefits of a Dental Bridges:

• Corrects misaligned bites caused by a missing tooth or teeth

• Prevents remaining teeth from drifting out of position

• Restores your ability to properly chew and speak

• Maintains the natural shape of your face

• Eliminates unsightly gaps and restores your smile
